Adams & Martin Group has partnered with a dynamic organization to find an experienced HR Specialist (Employee Relations) to join their team. This role is crucial in supporting the company's strategic objectives and organizational culture through comprehensive HR support. The position offers a hybrid working structure and may require occasional travel to various office locations.
Responsibilities
Human Resources Specialist (Employee Relations)
- Conduct new hire HR orientation sessions, introducing employees to policies, culture, and available HR resources.
- Partner with managers to onboard and train new hires, ensuring a structured and supportive transition.
- Facilitate 90-day check-ins with new employees to assess integration and engagement.
- Support newly hired or promoted supervisors through management training, policy interpretation, performance coaching, and guidance on employee relations matters.
- Provide ongoing coaching to managers on leadership effectiveness, communication, and employee development.
- Manage employee relations matters, including counseling, assisting with progressive discipline processes, and monitoring performance improvement plans (PIPs).
- Proactively identify performance concerns and collaborate with managers to implement improvement strategies.
- Partner with HR leadership and, when appropriate, external advisors on complex employee relations or compliance issues.
- Assist with workplace investigations as needed.
- Oversee separation processes, including conducting exit interviews, advising employees on their rights, and identifying trends for leadership review.
- Support the planning and execution of the annual performance review cycle, serving as a primary point of contact for performance management systems and partnering with managers to ensure timely completion.
- Lead mid-year performance check-ins to track progress and engagement.
- Act as a trusted HR resource by providing timely guidance on workplace issues and HR programs.
- Draft employment-related documentation (e.g., status changes, correspondence).
- Coordinate employee recognition initiatives that reinforce organizational values and culture.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of HR programs, policies, and procedures aligned with organizational goals.
- Oversee required training programs, including compliance-related topics such as harassment prevention and workplace safety.
- Stay informed of employment law developments and advise leadership on potential impacts.
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws, including required postings and filings.
- Communicate HR policies, procedures, and programs clearly and effectively to employees.
- Participate in additional projects and initiatives as assigned.
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field required.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive HR experience, including direct employee relations management.
- Professional HR certification (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP) preferred.
- Prior experience in a professional services environment is a plus.

- Demonstrates sound judgment and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Strong ability to prioritize, multitask, and work independently.
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels of the organization.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and standard business applications.
- Solid understanding of federal and state employment laws.
- Experience with HRIS platforms preferred.
Required Work Hours
Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
